INGREDIENTS
- A small handful of pitted fresh cherries (or frozen if not in season)
- 50ml bourbon or whiskey
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp caster sugar (or to taste)
- a squeeze of lemon juice
- soda water, to top
Vanilla is the secret ingredient in this cherry smash, helping to round out the fruity and/or smoky flavors of your favorite whiskey.
- Muddle pitted cherries in the bottom of a cocktail shaker to release their juices. Add the rest of the ingredients and muddle again. Add ice and shake well. Pour all into an ice-filled glass and top with soda water.
